This report summarises the findings of the EUA Thematic Peer Group ‘‘International Partnerships’’ which explored digitally enhanced internationalisation of higher education in detail. The report reflects the group’s discussions on how digital technologies, and the accompanying dynamics and ecosystems, are influencing the international partnerships between universities as well as the institutional policies and activities, and related challenges.


The report identifies different formats and approaches for digitally enhanced international partnerships, outlines a vision of the future of digitally enhanced internationalisation of higher education, highlights the key challenges that international partnerships face suggests a set of recommendations for universities, national and European institutions and the EdTech industry to overcome those challenges identified. The group was organised in the context of the “Supporting European universities in their strategic approaches to digital learning” (DIGI-HE) project and EUA’s Learning & Teaching activities.
