In early 2020 EUA conducted a survey on international strategic institutional partnerships and the European Universities Initiative. The results provide a broad view on international collaborations as well as first insights into the perceptions and experiences of higher education institutions in the European Universities Initiative. In this position EUA draws from the survey results calling on the European Commission the EU Member States in Council and the European Parliament to consider seven points for the future development of the initiative. This comes at a crucial moment as decisions are being taken on future EU funding programmes amid the current coronavirus crisis.
