The European Commission has launched a new Erasmus+ call for proposals to pilot a joint European degree label and test institutionalised EU cooperation instruments, such as a possible European legal status for alliances.
These initiatives were announced in the European strategy for universities, and confirmed in the Council Conclusions on a European strategy empowering higher education institutions for the future of Europe and the Council recommendation on building bridges for effective European higher education cooperation, adopted on 5 April 2022.
These initiatives aim to facilitate deeper transnational cooperation between higher education institutions in Europe. The outcomes of these pilots will then be discussed with the Council that will decide on the next steps.
This open and competitive call for proposals has a total budget of EUR 2 million. The deadline for applications’ submission is 6 October.
An online information session for applicants is planned on 28 June (10.30 – 12.30 CET).
Partnerships between higher education actors and relevant national, regional and/or institutional authorities are invited to apply. The more countries are involved, the better for the testing.
More information is available on the Erasmus+ portal.
