On 6 March, the European University Association’s new Thematic Peer Group (TPG) on institutional data held its first online meeting.
EUA recently established the group to explore data-steered initiatives pioneered among its members and examine emerging practices in the use of data for institutional development. During the first exploratory meeting, TPG members touched on a number of factors impacting institutions’ use of their data, including data quality, privacy and literacy, as well as highlighting data governance and sovereignty as immediate concerns for universities.
The group will next convene in Brussels on 21 May. This onsite meeting will be an opportunity for the group’s members to address data-related priorities in more depth, drawing on their collective experience in digital transformation, institutional research, planning and organisational change.
The group, which brings together expertise in quality enhancement, knowledge management, data analytics and strategic foresight, is comprised of 25 leaders from EUA member institutions in 19 countries:
