EUA’s response highlighted a series of key issues on “Science 2.0” from EUA’s perspective including words of warning against unnecessary or premature regulation in a movement that is emerging and for which implications still need to be identified. EUA thinks that at this stage working towards establishing efficient mechanisms for assessing the quality of the new ways of publishing scientific outcomes is necessary including tracking authorship and potential new metrics. Dialogue with stakeholders is also essential in these matters.
