EUA works with members and partners on a wide variety of cross-cutting issues inherent to or associated with the higher education and research sector. Many are close to universities’ core missions, such as learning and teaching, quality assurance and research. Others relate to European and national policies and initiatives important to the sector, like the EU programmes, funding, university autonomy and Open Science. Finally, some touch on the link between universities and larger agendas such as sustainable development, the energy challenge and European values.
