EUA meets with global counterparts in Bangkok

The annual meeting of the Global University Associations Forum (GUAF) took place on 4-5 September 2023, in Bangkok, Thailand. This is the second time that GUAF’s members have met in person, with this year’s meeting chaired by the ASEAN University Network (AUN).

At the meeting, the European University Association and fellow university associations from the Americas, the Arab region, China, India and Southeast Asia discussed recognition of mobility, including the growing use of virtual exchanges, as well as greening and sustainability. Several members also brought the topic of digitalisation and artificial intelligence to the table.

GUAF, initiated in 2021 by EUA, is an informal gathering of regional university associations. It acts as a forum to share information and experience and to foster links across the global university sector.
