EUA observes one minute of silence in memory of students killed in bus accident

On Tuesday, 22 March 2016 at 12.00 CET, EUA will join the Conference of Italian Universities Rectors (CRUI) in observing one minute of silence in remembrance of the 13 students killed in a bus accident near Tarragona, Spain.
The accident took place on 22 March 2016 and involved students enrolled at universities in Barcelona through the Erasmus programme. Seven of the victims were from Italy, two from Germany, one from France, one from Romania, one from Austria and one from Uzbekistan.
In this sorrowful moment, EUA encourages all of its members to take part in this minute of silence. EUA also joins the Erasmus Student Network, the Spanish National Union of Students (CREUP) and the European Students' Union (ESU) in expressing its deepest condolences to the families and friends of the victims. EUA mourns the loss of these young people and hopes the injured will quickly recover.
