The USTREAM partners are organising the final project event for European and national policy makers and university leaders to present the key findings and considerations for efficiency, effectiveness and value for money in a higher education and research context. Hosted by the Permanent Representation of Ireland to the EU, the event took place on 19 June 2019 in Brussels.
In times of budget cuts, policy makers’ demands for greater accountability, efficiency and effectiveness of higher education institutions are getting stronger. Throughout its EU-funded work on these topics, the USTREAM project consortium concluded that such demands can only be met with a collaborative effort across all levels. Coherent strategies and actions connecting European, national, sector and institutional levels are key for making European higher education and research more efficient and effective in the long run.
The aim of the final USTREAM event is to present the key findings and considerations for European policy makers and institutional leaders regarding efficiency, effectiveness and value for money of higher education and research. Participants will discuss the enabling frameworks and new efficient ways of delivering on the higher education and research agenda in Europe, while ensuring long-term impact, sustainability and quality of the outcomes.
Co-funded by the European Union under the Erasmus+ programme, USTREAM is a three-and-a-half-year project implemented by the European University Association (EUA), the Irish Universities Association (IUA), Universities UK (UUK) and the Central European University (CEU).
