The “Stakeholder Perspectives on Implementation of Commitments in the EHEA” (SPICE) project supports the implementation of Bologna Process commitments across the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) through data collection and analysis.
Co-funded by the European Union. Views and opinions expressed are however those of the author(s) only and do not necessarily reflect those of the European Union or the European Education and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA). Neither the European Union nor EACEA can be held responsible for them.
By bringing together different higher education stakeholders, including students' unions, higher education institutions and quality assurance agencies, the project aims to provide evidence-based insights on the implementation of higher education reforms, and foster collaboration for advancing them.
SPICE will collect data on Bologna Process commitments and address challenges in the EHEA to inform future policy developments. Through longitudinal data, SPICE will also measure the impact of reforms on higher education.
Project outputs include EUA’s Trends 2027 report, providing the viewpoint of higher education institutions, ESU’s Bologna With Students' Eyes (BWSE) 2027 publication, providing a student-centred view, as well as a Quality Assurance Mapping carried out by ENQA, focusing on external QA by agencies and internal QA in institutions.
SPICE will furthermore develop tools, offer training, and analyse institutional trends to ensure full implementation of commitments.
