The European University Association’s Trends 2027 survey is now open for contributions.

Since 1999, EUA's Trends series has been a key resource for mapping developments and reforms in European higher education.

In this vein, the tenth edition will gather the views of institutional leadership on developments in learning and teaching, values, engagement with society and internationalisation, as well as European policy processes and measures. Other prominent topics include artificial intelligence and micro-credentials, and for the first time there will be questions on student housing.

The results of Trends 2027 will support EUA’s policy work, providing input to discussions on institutional practices and national and European policy frameworks. Trends 2027 is part of the EU-funded SPICE project, dedicated to gathering stakeholders’ perspectives on the Bologna Process. To be published in the first quarter of 2027, the Trends report will be presented at the Bologna Process Ministerial Conference in Iasi (Romania) and Chisinau (Moldova) in May 2027.

All higher education institutions in the European Higher Education Area (EHEA), as well as EU partner countries in the Eastern and Southern Neighbourhood (former Tempus countries), that provide study programmes in at least one of the three degree cycles (bachelor’s, master’s, doctoral) are invited to participate.

The deadline to submit a response on behalf of your institution is 29 May 2026. There should be only one response per institution, provided by or on behalf of senior leadership.
