The European University Association is currently inviting higher education institutions to take part in a survey on internal and external quality assurance in the European Higher Education Area (EHEA). The survey is conducted as part of the EU co-funded Stakeholder Perspectives on Implementation of Commitments in the EHEA (SPICE) project.

By participating, institutions contribute to a comprehensive overview of current quality assurance practices and support EUA’s wider work and policy activities in this field.

The survey aims to:

  • collect data on the current state of internal and external quality assurance in the EHEA;
  • examine how higher education institutions are responding to recent and emerging developments, including innovative approaches; and
  • explore specific topics such as quality assurance and international cooperation, as well as the use of artificial intelligence in quality assurance.

The survey is addressed to higher education institutions operating in the EHEA and should reflect the institutional perspective on quality assurance. Given the comprehensive scope of the questionnaire, input from colleagues responsible for relevant areas may be required. However, only one response per institution should be submitted.

Most questions include predefined answer options, and the survey takes approximately 30–45 minutes to complete. Additional guidance is provided in the introduction to the survey. The deadline for participation is 3 April 2026.
