The European University Association is currently looking for member universities to take part in two Quality Assurance Thematic Groups in 2026.

From next year, a new series of QA TPGs will provide participating universities with an outstanding opportunity for peer learning and exchange of experiences, while contributing to EUA’s wider activities and policy work on this crucial topic.

For the first round in 2026, EUA offers two themes that are aligned with the broader topics of quality culture and internationalisation:

  • Cultivating self-reflection and constructive criticism in academic communities
  • Building robust QA for international cooperation

Further information about the groups is available in the full call document.

The deadline for applications is 31 October 2025.

The main objectives of EUA’s Quality Assurance Thematic Peer Groups are:

  • to discuss and explore practices and lessons learnt in organising and implementing internal quality assurance processes in European universities;
  • to contribute to the enhancement of internal quality assurance by identifying key considerations on the selected themes that will be shared with EUA’s wider membership.

The groups provide participating universities with an opportunity for peer-learning and exchange of experience, while contributing to EUA’s policy work on quality assurance, e.g. in the context of the Bologna Process.

The work of the first two groups will also into the 2026 edition of the European Quality Assurance Forum (EQAF), organised by EUA, EURASHE, ENQA and ESU on 12-14 November in Budapest, Hungary.
