EUA webinar series: A new world? (2nd edition)

EUA is pleased to present a series of webinars addressing some of the major trends in international cooperation, European science policy and global higher education policy. Each webinar on this three-part series will last an hour and will include an opportunity for Q&A.

24 May, 15.30 - 16.30 CEST

The Russian attack on Ukraine has deeply affected science diplomacy in Europe, coinciding with a new push from the European Union and its member states to develop policies for international research cooperation. In this situation, what can we expect from a European Science Diplomacy Agenda? Answering this question included aspects of science diplomacy such as promoting evidence-based foreign policies, establishing international research cooperation and using research to achieve foreign policy goals. This webinar discussed the EU plans and how these and national policies interplay with the strategies of the university sector.

Speakers and presentations

  • Jan Marco Müller, Science & Technology Advisor, European External Action Service: A European Science Diplomacy Agenda
  • Axel Leisenberg, Ministry for Higher Education, Research and Innovation, France
