On 30 March, members of the new EUA Expert Group on Innovation came together for a first meeting in Brussels.
The group was established to support EUA in developing strategy and policy for all innovation topics of relevance to European universities. Building on the legacy of the former Expert Group on Innovation Ecosystems, the new group will provide advice to the EUA Board based on strategic horizon scanning and policy review. It will also help to formulate EUA positions, statements and recommendations on European research and innovation programmes.
At its inaugural meeting, members of the group discussed existing and emerging priorities for the university sector stemming from the EUA Innovation Agenda 2026 as well as broader national and international developments. These priorities will be implemented through specific action plans which the expert group will devise alongside the EUA Secretariat over the coming months. The group will convene both on-site and online to take this work forward.
