First Edition of the World Congress for the Comparative Study of Civilization

The First Edition of the World Congress for the Comparative Study of Civilizations, entitled The New Enlightenment between Traditions and Challenges - Crossroads of Civilizations, will be held in Bucharest, Romania, 2-7 July 2023.


The Congress is organized by EUA member Dimitrie Cantemir Christian University, The International Society for the Comparative Study of Civilizations, and the Asian Politics and History Association.

The goal of the Congress is to provide a venue for scholars in the fields of the comparative study of civilizations, cultural and social studies, history and humanities to meet and exchange views. Innovation methods, multi-disciplinary and inter-disciplinary approaches are particularly welcomed.

The World Congress will be held in honour of Dimitrie Cantemir, commemorating 350 years from his birth in 1673, as well as three centuries since his death in 1723.
