Second IAU Global Survey Report on the Impact of COVID-19

In February 2021, the International Association of Universities (IAU) launched the second edition of the global survey on the impact of COVID-19 on higher education to monitor the situation one year into the pandemic. EUA contributed with a chapter on the impact of COVID-19 on European higher education.

The survey, entitled Higher Education One Year into the COVID-19 Pandemic gathered replies from 496 higher education institutions in 112 countries. This second edition is based on a comprehensive survey gathering institutional responses in all aspects of higher education institutions’ mission and functioning, namely, governance, teaching and learning, research and community/societal engagement. The report introduces both a global perspective and a comparative view between regions, as well as public and private higher education institutions.

A webinar held on 1 March 2022 officially launched the report presenting an overview and focusing on the main results.
