Universities and the climate emergency: action following COP26 - Online conference

18 January 2022

On the 26-27 January 2022, Universities UK is organising the conference “Universities and the climate emergency: action following COP26”. The event will be held online.

Following COP26, it is more evident than ever before that the world needs to take radical action to tackle the climate crisis, including universities. The two questions at the heart of this event are: How can universities decarbonise their campuses in the short-term while building credible and ambitions plans in the long-term? And how can they work with government effectively to ensure that the sector gets the support it needs to achieve this?

Henriette Stöber, EUA Policy Analyst, will participate as speaker for the “Internationalisation and sustainability” panel. During this session, the debate will focus on how universities can navigate the concurrent goals of both being more sustainable and being more international.
