The European Commission’s Joint Research Centre (JRC) organises a virtual launch event of the book “Regional Innovation Impact of Universities” on 18 June. Registrations are now open and free to anyone interested.
EUA Director for Research and Innovation Stephane Berghmans will be one of the keynote speakers at the panel discussion about the relevance and applicability of the Regional Innovation Impact Assessment (RIIA) framework starting at 14.00 CEST.
The book introduces and elaborates a framework for the assessment of universities considering the multiple ways through which these multi-facetted organisations contribute to their regional innovation ecosystems.
The original framework, introduced in 2018, was piloted by 20 universities across Europe which allowed for its further development. The book, which will be available in Open Access, also explores the potential for implementing the framework in EU, national and regional incentive schemes to help further strengthen this mission.
The launch event will bring together high-level speakers from universities, EU, national and regional authorities.
