Science Europe publishes recommendations on research assessment processes

Science Europe, an association representing public research performing and research funding organisations in Europe, has published a “Position Statement and Recommendations on Research Assessment Processes”.

The recommendations further add momentum to the discussion on academic career assessment in Europe. EUA plays a leading role in this discussion by gathering information on university practices and organising discussions between universities and other actors.

EUA and Science Europe joined efforts to improve scholarly research assessment methodologies with a joint statement in May 2019. Both associations have since maintained a continuous dialogue and have been involved in each other’s events and activities, with a view to promoting strong synergies between the reward and incentive structures of universities, research performing and funding organisations.
