Initiative for Science in Europe launches petition for more investment in Horizon Europe

14 February 2020

A petition from the Initiative for Science in Europe (ISE) calls on member states to invest more in education, research, and innovation. ISE asks supporters to sign the petition and spread the word within Europe’s research community.

The campaign comes as negotiations on the EU’s next multiannual financial framework enter the final round. The outcome will determine funding levels for key EU programmes like Horizon Europe. The petition calls on European leaders to keep their commitment to the programme high with a strong budget, as proposed by the European Parliament.

EUA’s own advocacy work on the topic reflects that of ISE, especially in that investing in education, research, and innovation is of utmost importance for the future of Europe.

In addition to supporting campaigns the ISE petition, EUA encourages members and partners to send a letter to the ministers of their countries, using the templates already available and translated into different European languages.
