Seminar on recognition, transparency and information provision: the role of higher education institutions, 11 March, Paris

07 January 2020

A seminar entitled “Recognition, transparency and information provision: the role of Higher Education institutions” will be organised in the framework of the Bologna Thematic Peer Group B on the Lisbon Recognition Convention on 11 March at France Éducation International in Paris. Helene Peterbauer, Policy & Project Officer at EUA’s Institutional Development unit, will discuss the implementation of the Lisbon Recognition Convention principles with representatives of other stakeholder groups in academic recognition.

The seminar is especially intended for higher education staff – admission, communication and international relations officers -, ministries of education and ENIC-NARIC networks. It will be divided into two sessions:

  1. Information provision in admission (“incoming”): How to provide transparent information for applicants - documents required, recognition procedure, methodology of assessment, right to appeal, translation in different languages, etc.
  2. Information provision in awarding qualifications (“outgoing”): How to provide transparent information on study programs and qualifications awarded.

One month before the event, the webinar “The key role of information in supporting recognition procedures” led by the Chair of Elcore Working Group, Michael Ringuette, will give participants some background on the Lisbon Recognition Convention information provision and how it relates to recognition procedures to access higher education.

Registrations to both the seminar and the webinar are open until 21 February 2020.
