18 September 2019

The UNESCO King Hamad Bin Isa Al-Khalifa Prize for the use of ICT in Education recognises innovative approaches in leveraging new technologies to expand educational and lifelong learning opportunities. This year’s deadline for applications is 31 October, while the award ceremony will be held in March 2020 at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris.

The theme of the 2019 Prize is “The use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to innovate education, teaching and learning”. Like every year, the prize is consistent with UNESCO’s mandate and values, and advocates for responsible and ethical use of information and communication technologies in line with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its Goal 4 on education.
