The University of Alcalá (UAH) and the University Rey Juan Carlos (URJC) are pleased to announce that up to seventeen (17) fellowships are available as part of the GOT ENERGY TALENT – COFUND Fellowship programme (GET-COFUND).

Out the 17 fellowships, 8/9 fellows will be recruited by the UAH and 8/9 by the URJC. The GET-COFUND fellowships are jointly funded by the University of Alcalá (UAH) and the University Rey Juan Carlos (URJC), on the one hand, and the European Union through the Marie Skłodowska-Curie COFUND scheme (Grant Agreement 754382), on the other hand.

The fellowships will provide the opportunity for experienced researchers from around the world to spend two years in Madrid, developing their independent research and undertaking training which will help them develop into the next generation of research leaders. Fellows can decide whether to carry out a 24-month advanced research project at the academic host institution (UAH and URJC) or, under certain research lines, to carry out a 12-month advanced research project combined with a 12-month period devoted to applied research in one of the non-academic partner host institutions.

Fellows have to propose a comprehensive and innovative research project in the field of Smart Energy, in an area that aligns with UAH/URJC’s research areas. All fellows will have an academic mentor and will be integrated in one of the host research groups at UAH/URJC. Fellows need to identify a suitable research group and contact them prior to applying, in order to get the necessary feedback to complete their application.

Who can apply?
Applicants of all nationalities are eligible to apply but must not have resided or carried out their main activity in Spain for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately prior to the call deadline. Applicants should also be in possession of a PhD or 4 years of full-time equivalent research experience by the call deadline.

Fellowships conditions
Fellows will be recruited under a two-year fulltime employment contract. The monthly allowance will be €4,490.00*. For those fellows who at the call deadline have family duties the monthly allowance will amount to €4,890.00*. Fellows will be provided with a yearly contribution of €4,200.00 towards the direct costs of conducting the research proposal.
*These amounts correspond to the total amount before both employer contributions (economic rights and social costs) and employee contributions (fiscal obligations and social security and other taxes).

How to apply
All applications must be submitted via GET online system on GET’s website. Applications submitted by any other means or which do not use the specified documents will not be accepted.
