EUA experts meet to discuss pathways for an impactful EU R&I framework programme

06 June 2023

On 31 May, the second meeting of the European University Association task and finish group on the EU Research and Innovation Framework Programme took place in Brussels.

Members of the task and finish group exchanged views on the current challenges experienced by Horizon Europe and reflected on how these could be addressed in the design of the future framework programme. Previously, EUA convened a strategic focus group on lessons learnt from the first years of Horizon Europe’s implementation, the outcomes of which were also presented and discussed. This focus group took place online on 12 May, gathering 23 experts from universities in Europe.

The task and finish group meeting was also an opportunity to engage in a strategic discussion with the European Commission on the role of the future framework programme (FP10), in the context of the implementation of the next ERA Policy Agenda.

Established with a one-year mandate, the group is tasked with developing a vision paper providing perspectives on the main challenges ahead and key areas to be considered in the design of the next EU Research and Innovation framework programme.
