EUA issues new analysis on CETA trade agreement

18 May 2018

EUA has published another update on the EU’s trade agreement initiatives, this time on the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) with Canada.

This briefing, “CETA: how far has it come and where is it headed?”, includes the latest information on the progress of the agreement and reviews its potential impact on higher education. It has a triple focus on the “provisional application” of CETA; progress on Mutual Recognition Agreements (in relation to professional qualifications); and the implications of Brexit.

The document is a follow-up to two previous EUA updates on “EU Trade Agreements and the Recognition of Professional Qualifications” (June 2016) and “The EU’s Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) with Canada”, with particular reference to trade in higher education services (March 2017).

This publication is a part of EUA’s trade update series. The author is EUA Senior Adviser Howard Davies.
