The 25th EUA General Assembly (GA), taking place on Thursday 20 April, 09.45-12.15 CEST, is open to representatives of EUA member institutions and organisations. The GA will be hosted by Gdańsk University of Technology in Poland together with the 2023 EUA Annual Conference and Leadership Roundtable between 19-21 April. Registration for the events is open until 2 April.

During the General Assembly, EUA members will elect a new President and several new Board members. Candidates for Board and President are endorsed by EUA Council on the recommendation of the EUA Nominations Committee. Executive heads of full EUA members will be invited to vote for their preferred candidates for the 2023-2027 term. Voting will be open to eligible participants in attendance at the assembly and election results will be announced before the meeting closes.

All meeting documents will be circulated to executive heads and main contacts of EUA member institutions and organisations at the latest two weeks before the meeting.

Members who wish to register participation are kindly asked to take note of the information provided below on voting eligibility and proxy nominations. Questions relating to participation can be directed to eua-ga@eua.eu.

  • MEMBERS’ VOTING ELEGIBILITY

EUA full members (individual and collective) with no outstanding memberships fees, up to and including 2023, are eligible to vote on statutory items presented during the GA. The deadline for receipt of fee payments is Friday 31 March. EUA members who have paid membership fees in full and who have registered for the General Assembly will receive an email from the online voting platform on or before 13 April granting access to vote at the GA. Enquiries related to payment of membership fees can be directed to membership@eua.eu.

  • PROXY REPRESENTATION

Voting is open to executive heads (university presidents, rectors and vice-chancellors and presidents of national rectors' conferences) of full EUA members. Executive heads who are unable to attend the GA may nominate a representative from within their leadership team to vote on their behalf.

Alternatively, executive heads may nominate the head of another EUA full member to vote on their behalf. Please note that any member of the General Assembly may hold only one proxy from another EUA full member. Both the institution transferring a vote and the nominated proxy institution must have paid all outstanding membership fees.

Executive heads wishing to nominate a proxy should complete the proxy nomination form by Friday 31 March at the latest. Please direct any related enquiries to eua-ga@eua.eu
