The call for applications to join the peer-learning activity is now closed. Applicants will be informed by 20 January if they have been selected.
The consortium of the Erasmus+ co-funded BWSE FOR2030 project (Bologna with Stakeholders Eyes for an Innovative, Inclusive and Interconnected EHEA by 2030) is pleased to announce the opening of a call for applications to join the first of a series of three peer-learning activities (PLAs).
During the 2020 Rome Ministerial Conference, ministers for higher education expressed their commitment to building an inclusive, innovative and interconnected European Higher Education Area (EHEA) that underpins a sustainable, cohesive and peaceful Europe, by 2030. As such, the first peer-learning activity of this Erasmus+ co-funded project, on “Towards an inclusive EHEA by 2030”, aims to support the implementation of this vision by inviting participants to:
- engage in mutual learning and practice exchange;
- identify potential solutions to existing challenges;
- contribute to the formulation of tangible recommendations to support the effectiveness of the Bologna Process in the long term.
This on-site activity will be hosted by the Dutch Ministry of Education, Science and Culture and the Dutch Center for Diversity Policy (ECHO) in The Hague, Netherlands, on 16-17 February 2023. The event is open to representatives of relevant ministries (i.e. covering higher education), higher education institutions, non-governmental organisations, students and other higher education stakeholders such as policy-makers and higher education experts from EHEA countries. A maximum of 18 participants will be selected through a call for applications, which is open until 15 January.
This event will be followed by a second activity, “Towards an innovative EHEA by 2030” , hosted in Zagreb by the Croatian Ministry of Education and Science on 20-21 April 2023, and a third on “Towards an interconnected EHEA by 2030” in June 2023. The three PLAs are organised as separate events, and each has its own calls for applications.
Applications will primarily be evaluated based on the prospective participant’s level of experience with the event theme “Towards an inclusive EHEA by 2030”, for example through previous or ongoing projects or initiatives. While it is possible to apply for all three activities, applicants may only be selected for one of the three events. The organisers will also seek to ensure balance in terms of gender, geographical and organisational profile among the selected participants.
For the convenience of potential applicants, a summary of the application form is available; however, only applications received through the online form will be considered.
This event is free of charge. Student participants (max. four) selected through the call for applications will have their travel and accommodation costs reimbursed. All other participants are required to cover their own travel and accommodation costs.

Selected participants will receive relevant materials and questions in advance and should be prepared to contribute actively to discussions during the event, including by sharing their experiences and participating in interactive session formats.
