    The European Commission has opened its public consultation on the Erasmus+ programme. The purpose is to gather comments and perspectives from stakeholders and the public on the programme’s relevance, effectiveness and efficiency. The input will feed into the ongoing mid-term evaluation and serve to design the Erasmus+ successor programme in 2020.

    On 1 March 2017, European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker presented his White Paper on the Future of Europe in preparation for the 60th anniversary of the Rome Treaties.

    EUA has updated its latest data on women in leadership positions in Europe’s universities. The results show that in the 47 countries with EUA members, only 12% of all rectors are female.

    EUA is deeply concerned about the spirit of US President Donald Trump’s new travel ban and its potential implications on the free flow of people and ideas.

    EUA will hold a webinar on 29 March on “Open Science in Universities: Implications for research and for doctoral education.” The deadline to register is 24 March.

    EUA members will have the opportunity to elect three new Board members at the 2017 General Assembly, which will take place on the morning of 6 April before the start of the EUA Annual Conference, hosted by the University of Bergen in Norway.
