Recording of the webinar is now available.

EUA’s annual Public Funding Observatory offers a unique perspective on university finance. Tracking trends in public funding to the sector in over 25 systems since the outbreak of the global financial crisis in 2008, the Public Funding Observatory reveals how persistent financial tensions across Europe continue to be a threat to the full completion of the European Higher Education and Research Areas. While financial efforts are starting to pay off in some systems, the divide between European countries that maintain or improve the level of investment and those that are falling behind continues to grow.

The webinar will provide an opportunity to explore the findings of the 2017 edition of the Public Funding Observatory. The speakers will present the latest funding patterns and longer-term trends explored in view of the evolving economic context and university demographics. Special attention will be paid to the links between the national and European funding schemes, at a time when the European Union is developing future funding programmes for research and education in the post-2020 period.

The event is free of charge and open to all interested parties. Priority is given to EUA members in case registrations reach 500 participants.
